Jake`s in Alexander City

Local folks. The food is always great. Great variety. Never had a bad meal, but Sunday lunch is like grandma used to make. So good!!

Food was great today.

FANTASTIC FRIED SHRIMP! Fried shrimp (jumbo) so good! Bingo charity night and we had a great family dinner(and yes if they have a table available you can eat there on Bingo night) fried green beans excellent and don't forget those heavenly yeast rolls YUM!

Shrimp was very good, fried and grilled. Husband had blackened catfish that was very good.

What a wonderful nite out! Even tho the restaurant was packed for bingo, we were graciously met at the door and seated at a table for 9. The service was excellent and the food delicious with some suprise southern favorites like the homemade pimento cheese dip and fried green tomatoes.

The food was fantastic. I had blackened Talapia and it was just right. Onion rings were very good as well. Service seemed a little slow, however we did have a party of 13. We went during lunch on a Wednesday. It was not crowded at all. Nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

I had heard a lot about this place. All being good. This is by far the best food I have ever had. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is very friendly. I rate Jake's the highest. Best food I have had in a long time!!

Great food. Had the salmon and wild rice. The only night you HAVE to have reservations is Thursday night which is Bingo night... apparently a huge deal in the area, lol. Place was very clean, has good drinks, and the staff is exactly what you want at a restaurant.

Had a truly great experience dining here. Wife had salmon, I had the ribeye. Both were excellent. Friendly staff, great service, delicious food = Satisfaction.

Ribeye with blue cheese on top was good and well cooked. The appretizers were also good including fried green beans.

Crab claws was Awesome as well the Ribeye steak along with Great service and atmosphere.

Great food!! From the real chunky blue cheese dressing to their tender fried Shrimp & baked potatoe. BUT...for a place with a $25.00 steak their bathroom were not up to par!! Smelled very musty & dirt build up from days (not hours) of neglect!!

Extensive menu and good choice options. Deduct a star because twice when we visited the restaurant during business hours sign on door said they closed early.

I love the food at Jake's! They have bingo weekly that is so much fun! Proceeds go to charity which makes it even better!

Awesome burger, cold beer, and friendly staff! What’s not to love?

The Greek salad was good. My burger had what seemed to be bone hard fry pieces inside one bite. It felt so hard I was afraid of breaking a tooth. So put that bite on my plate...to see what it was. Well there were two pieces about 1inch long but hard hard. Also my bun was cold and plain.. Right out of bag. I told my server.. She said she'd get Jake. I did continue to eat the remainder of my burger.as I believed it to be hard fries. Jake seemed like he didn't believe me. He said he was sorry and walked away. My husband ordered blackened fish tacos with cole slaw. There were two rolled flour tortillas on his plate. They looked like burritos. Inside chopped fish slathered in tarter sauce ...not blackened. We did not tell the server or Jake. But we had driven around ,"town" for 20 min deciding where to eat..as we are camping visitors. We paid regular price..no discount was offered and bearly an I am sorry. It was NOT a good choice for us..

Excellent food and service

Quickly seated, waited 15 minutes and no one came to take even a drink order. We seemed like foreigners in a hometown place. Guess we didn’t have proper credentials!

Great food wonderful service. I stop in to this restaurant every chance I get. I love the specials especially when Jake finds good red snapper from the gulf. Often he has a good steak special. Jake is civic minded and does a bingo fundraiser each Thursday night where local clubs and charities make money.
